WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — Hartford High graduate Jordy Allard worked six innings for his second win of the summer and infielder Alan Roden produced three hits to lead the Upper Valley Nighthawks to an 8-4 win over the Keene Swamp Bats in New England Collegiate Baseball League action at Maxfield Sports Complex on Sunday.
Allard (Richmond) extended his season-opening scoreless streak to 10⅔ innings before a two-run Keene homer in the sixth halved what had been a 4-0 lead. The Nighthawks added insurance runs in the home sixth and seventh to pull away.
Roden (Creighton) finished 3-for-4 for Upper Valley (7-1), which routed North Shore, 14-5, on Saturday night. William Sullivan (Troy) launched his third home run of the season as part of a 2-for-4 evening for the Hawks.
Upper Valley is back in action on Tuesday, hosting the Vermont Mountaineers at Maxfield starting at 6 p.m.
