WEST HARTFORD — Hartford Police are investigating the near-drowning of a Windsor toddler in the White River on Saturday afternoon.

As of Monday morning, the 1½-year-old girl remained in critical condition at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Deputy Chief Braedon S. Vail told the Valley News. In a release earlier on Monday, Vail said that first responders found bystanders performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the girl, who had been pulled from the river under the Quechee-West Hartford Road Bridge.

Members of Hartford emergency services continued life-saving efforts, and the girl was taken to DHMC, Vail said.
