Application deadline for ‘Valley News’ board is May 15

WEST LEBANON — The May 15 deadline to apply to the Valley News Reader Advisory Board is approaching.

To be eligible to apply for the board, community-minded readers must live, work or go to school in a town or city in the Valley News’ coverage area, generally speaking from Newbury, Vt., to Charlestown and Randolph to New London.

A selection committee, which will evaluate applications on criteria, including the applicants’ connection to the Upper Valley, will choose 9 to 11 board members aiming for a broad range of perspectives.

To avoid conflicts of interest, those who currently hold elected positions in government and those with careers in public relations or communications in the Upper Valley will not be considered.

Those who are selected will be committing to a two-year term beginning this summer and continuing into 2026. The paper will announce the board members on June 1, and hold an organizational meeting in June.

Those interested in participating in the board are asked to complete the online form found at shorturl.at/cozRW. More information about the board is on the Valley News website: vnews.com.
