HANOVER — The Dartmouth College women’s soccer team kept up its stingy ways on Thursday night, blanking Rhode Island, 2-0, at Whitey Burnham Field.

The Big Green (6-1-0) recorded its fourth consecutive shutout, extending its run without allowing a goal to more than 378 minutes. Dartmouth now has five shutouts on the season and has outscored its first seven foes by a 16-2 margin.

Mariel Gordon needed just one save for the clean sheet in the Dartmouth net. She and the defense of Bonnie Shea, Alyssa Neuberger and Grace Rorke kept the Rams (3-3-2) at a distance all night.

Izzy Glennon got Dartmouth on the scoreboard at 25:18 with her third goal of the season and second in two matches. Mollie McGorisk earned the assist.

The Big Green doubled its lead at 54:27 through Allie Winstanley. Neuberger stepped forward for the assist on the clinching goal.

Dartmouth held a 6-5 edge in shots in the defensively centered contest. URI outcornered the Big Green, 4-3.

Dartmouth visits Sacred Heart on Sunday afternoon.
