Hanover — Authorities are searching snow-covered trails and woods off Route 10 north of downtown Hanover for a missing 91-year-old man who didn’t return from his regular outing this morning.
Authorities said the man, who lives at the Kendal at Hanover community near the Connecticut River, goes out for a daily walk but has not been seen today since he left around 11:30 a.m. His wife contacted authorities, and members of the Hanover police and fire departments, New Hampshire Fish and Game, Upper Valley Wilderness and other groups are searching for the missing man.
Hanover authorities said Stanley Myers is 5 feet 8 inches tall, with white hair, and was wearing a tan coat, jeans and boots. They said he struggles with memory loss.
Friends said it is unusual for him not to return, and that he is physically fit and often uses snowshoes.
The search area has included the Kendal campus and the Oak Hill trails and woods east of Storrs Pond.
Authorities still were out and actively searching as of 11:30 p.m. on Friday.
Anyone who has seen Myers today is asked to call Hanover Dispatch 603-643-2222.
