Denny, adoptable from Upper Valley Humane Society

“Hey there, my name is Denny! I’m a 3 year old hound mix who’s looking to have some fun.

“I’m a very energetic boy that loves spending my time with my human friends — they make the best playmates! I really enjoy my toys and treats, and sometimes find it hard to share my things. So I’ll need an owner that can help me work on sharing.

“Since I’m very connected to my human friends, I don’t really like being alone for long periods of time, so I’d like it if my new owner could help me work on my crate training as well.

“I’ve met dogs here at the shelter and really seem to like them, so I’ll just need a quick introduction before going home to one. Cats? I tend to find them a little too exciting, so no cats in my new home please.

“If you’d like a handsome hound for a companion, then come scoop me up today!”

Denny is up for adoption from the Upper Valley Humane Society, located at 300 Old Route 10 in Enfield and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The Upper Valley Humane Society is also on Facebook and Instagram and can be reached at 603-448-6888.

Elvis, adoptable from Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society

“Hi! My name’s Elvis and I’m a 4-year-old neutered male hound mix.

“I was adopted from Lucy Mackenzie a year ago and recently returned. I had lots of fun and adventure in my home, but didn’t always get along with the other dogs that lived near us. It became a problem, too, which is why I’m back here.

“I consider myself to be a goofy guy that really loves life. My ideal home would include a fenced-in yard (I’ve been known to run away when the moment presents itself!) and a family that is as active as I am.

“I’m working on my leash and obedience skills and would really like to continue that training. I’m a large guy that really needs an opportunity to get my energy out daily. I will need to be an only-animal in my new home, but I’m all the animal that anybody needs!

“If you’re looking for a large, handsome canine to be your new best friend, stop in and meet me today!”

Elvis is up for adoption from Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society, located at 4832 Route 44 in West Windsor and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 12-4 p.m. Lucy Mackenzie is also on Facebook and Twitter and can be reached at 802-484-5829.

Ganon, adoptable from Sullivan County Humane Society

“I am 3-year-old Ganon. My mom had recently adopted me and my sister Zelda from one of her friends and loved us. Sadly, her life took a sudden turn into turmoil and she realized that her future ability to care for us was uncertain. Not wanting to wait until it was a true emergency, she contacted the humane society to make sure we were cared for. So, here we are!

“We are two gorgeous sweethearts and want to stay together! We are vet checked, spayed/neutered, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped and FIV/FeLV negative.”

Ganon is up for adoption from Sullivan County Humane Society, located at 145 Broad St. in Claremont. Please see hours on the humane society website at and Facebook. Call 603-542-3277 or email
