Martha Fisk, 86, of Sharon, Vt., stacks firewood at her home on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022. Fisk has lived in the home since 1968. She always did firewood with her husband until he died 33 years ago and now she does it herself. The household used to burn six cords of wood, but after weatherizing she now burns four a year. "My kids have a fit because I won't let them help me," she said. Fisk said she likes to take breaks and go at her own pace. (Valley News - Jennifer Hauck) Copyright Valley News.
