DANBURY, N.H. — Ford Sayre’s Campbell Madden raced to a pair of top-five finishes and ranked fourth overall at Sunday’s NHARA U14 West Division slalom state qualifier on Ragged Mountain’s Showboat trail.
Competitors skied three runs, with the first two combined for a final ranking. Madden placed seventh (48.76 seconds) in the opening run and second in the next (46.56) for her overall fourth-place result (1:35.32), later earning fifth place (48.96) in her last run. Hailey Pastel ranked seventh (1:37.43) for Ford Sayre in the girls standings; Sadie Ross (14th), Reese Hamlin (16th) and Lila Muirhead (19th) also cracked the top 20.
Wynn Bushell landed in fourth overall among the boys (1:33.51), highlighted by a third-place opening run, to lead Ford Sayre. Sam Ames was second in two of his three attempts, but a first-run disqualification hampered his overall placement. Andrew McGuire provided a third-place run.
Ford Sayre’s Hayden Clapp, Ian Holmes, Henry Ruth and Henry Steffen were 12-13-14-15 in the overall boys standings.
