Bethel and Royalton voters urged to vote on school bond in person

SOUTH ROYALTON — To vote on the White River Unified District school bond, Bethel and Royalton residents must request separate ballots.
The ballot for the $3.8 million school bond for capital additions, renovations and improvements to schools within the district, is not included in the general election and justice of the peace ballot automatically mailed to residents.
In both towns, residents can pick up a ballot or vote early at the Town Clerk’s office through Nov. 4. The Royalton town office is located at 2460 Vermont Rt. 14 and is open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The Bethel town office is located at 134 South Main Street and is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5., Royalton residents can vote at the Royalton school gym from 8 a.m to 7 p.m. located at 223 South Windsor Street and Bethel residents can vote from 8 a.m to 7 p.m. at the Bethel campus elementary lobby located at 273 Pleasant Street.
Voters can also get their school bond ballots mailed to them by calling or emailing their respective Town Clerk’s office or visiting the secretary of state’s website, but both towns’ clerks said they highly recommend voting in person this close to the election.
