CORNISH, NH — Rodney Lincoln Lovell (Papa) of Cornish, New Hampshire passed away on June 16, 2019 at the age of 76, in Groveland Florida after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born on March 2, 1943 in Hartford, CT to Rodney and Helen (Livingston) Lovell. Rodney attended and graduated from Stevens High School in 1964. He served his country proudly, as a sergeant with the Army and the Army National Guard in the 744th Transportation Unit and completed tours in Vietnam and Operation Desert Storm.

Rodney was married to Pauline Thorgerson for 44 years and spent most of his married years in Manchester NH, where he worked as a truck driver for various mail contractors. He later became the caretaker of his mother before she passed away at 103 years old. He loved his garden, tractors, working on cars and living up in Cornish where he spent lots of his childhood. He contracted cancer a few years back and lost his left arm due to an untreatable tumor. He was determined to live a full life with one arm and surprised most by his ability to stay so independent and continue to do the things he enjoyed.

Rodney is survived by daughters, Bonnie (Shawn Nutting) Lovell-Nutting, Paula (Devon Burbank) Burbank and Cynthia Lovell, brother Frank Lovell and grandchildren; Ashley Lovell, Bailey Nutting, Haley Couture and Anna Burbank. He was preceded in death by brother Byron Lovell, parents Helen & Rodney Lovell Sr., and wife Pauline Lovell.

Services will be on July 27, 2019 at Union Episcopal Church of Claremont NH at 12:30 p.m. The burial will follow at Trinity Church Cemetery in Cornish NH and then a Celebration of Life back at the Union Episcopal Church of Claremont.
