CLAREMONT, NH — Rodman W. Rocke passed away on January 28th, 2019 at the Elmwood Center in Claremont, NH.

Rod was Born in Burlington, VT on October 27, 1936. The son of Norman and Alice (Charbono) Rocke, Rod attended school in Enfield, NH and in 1956 he joined the United States Air Force, where he spent the next twenty one years.

He was most proud of being a crew chief on his favorite plane the C130. He served during Vietnam war and was stationed at many bases throughout his career. He made many friends during that time, especially Al Caldwell and his wife Peggy that are still best of friends today.

After retirement from the Air Force in 1977, Rod worked for Coles Flooring, a family run business in Lebanon, and then his own company R&R Carpet. Later in his life he worked for his son in law, Mark, at Wilson Tire. He loved spending time telling the boys at Wilson Tire about all of his adventures. Rod loved Nascar, camping, playing his guitar, golfing, spending time with his family and grandchildren. They loved their “Pa“!

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Shirley Jean, his children Mike & Kim, Kim & Mark, Donna & Gordon, Suzy & Allen and Andrea & Scott. His grandchildren Kari, Courtney, Kelsi, Zachary, Taylor, Hunter, Karli and Connor. Great grandchildren Jack, Collin and Amora. His twin sister Norma, Brother Bob & wife Pat, Brother Butch & wife Ellen. His half sisters and brothers he liked to call the second batch. Bonnie, Sherrie, Steve, Gary, Scott and their families. Many extended family members, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

At Rod’s request their will be no calling hours. Burial will be held at a later date. A special thank you to everyone at Elmwood Center for their very special care and kindness extended to Rod “Rockie” during his time there.
