Enfield NH — Louise E. Nylund, 94, of Enfield, NH, died Tuesday, November 6, 2018 surrounded by loving family members.

Born October 16, 1924 in Hanover, NH to Mildred (Cutts) and Carl W. Story. She was predeceased by her brother, Carroll (Bud) Story, step-sister, Adelaide Mason, her granddaughter, Sarah Nylund, son, Thomas Nylund and daughter, Linda Saada.

Louise grew up in West Lebanon, NH. After graduating from West Lebanon High School in 1942, she received her nurse training at Barre City Hospital (Barre, VT), became a registered nurse and, during WWII, joined the Army Nurse Corps (Boston, MA). Her early employment included private duty nursing, Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital (Hanover, NH) and Kathryn Barton Nursing Home (Wayland, MA).

She married Walter Nylund on September 7, 1947. They lived in Sudbury, MA, Andover, MA and Warwick, RI, before moving to Wayland, MA where they resided for 30 years and raised 4 children.

She spent most of her summers at her family cottages on Mascoma Lake, in Enfield, NH, and her winters for the past 25 years in Vero Beach, Florida. She always loved being surrounded by family and friends. The more people around, the happier she was. Over the years, she enjoyed going to yard sales, playing bridge, sewing, crocheting, word searches and watching the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and game shows on TV.

She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Walter Nylund, her daughter, Nancy Corrette and husband, Bill, of Lyme, NH, her son, Mark Nylund and wife, Deborah, of Canaan, NH, 9 grand-children, 11 great grand-children and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 11th, from 5pm to 7pm, at Ricker Funeral Home, in Lebanon, NH. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 12th, at 11am, at Ricker Funeral Home, followed by burial at the Oak Grove Cemetery, in Enfield, NH.
