Key players: Hanover — Roy Lucas, Wyatt Daigle; Lebanon — Miles Saunders

Highlights: Lucas had a game-high 19 points to pace the Bears. Daigle chipped in with 15. The Raiders were led by Saunders with seven points.

Records: Hanover 3-1; Lebanon 1-3

Hartford 51, Fair Haven 47

Key players: Hartford — Rex Banning (17 points), Ryan Murphy (14 points), Noah Jenks (9 points) Fair Haven — Phil Bean (20 points)

Highlights: Murphy hit the go-ahead shot with 45 seconds left for the Hurricanes. Hartford trailed the entire second half.

Highlights: Rivendell and Grace Christian faced off in Orford on Friday in a game that was closer than the final score would suggest. Kale O’Donnell scored his first varsity points and Ty O’Donnell added three points in his second varsity game. Trailing by nine at halftime, the Raptors quickly cut the deficit to four before a barrage of five 3-pointers by Grace Christian in the final frame allowed them to pull away.

Highlights: Delisle came up big for Lebanon, scoring a game-high 21 points.

Windsor 75, Thetford 22

Key players: Windsor — Sophia Rockwood, Audrey Rupp, Amelia Rockwood, Lily Prebish; Thetford — Natalie Perry

Highlights: Windsor’s Sophia Rockwood scored a game-high 22 points along with five steals and four rebounds in the win, and Amelia Rockwood posted 13 points and three boards. Rupp stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, nine steals and four rebounds, and Prebish flirted with a double-double, finishing with eight points and nine rebounds for the Yellowjackets. Perry scored six points for Thetford.

Records: Windsor 4-0; Thetford 2-2

Oxbow 67, Blue Mountain 22

Key players: Oxbow — Maggi Ellsworth, Braylee Phelps

Highlights: Oxbow, led by 20 points from Ellsworth and 15 points from Phelps, poured in 47 points across the second and third quarters in its eventual 45-point win on Saturday to maintain an undefeated start to the season.

Records: Oxbow 4-0; Blue Mountain 1-4

Boys Hockey

Hartford 4, Champlain Valley 1

Key players: Hartford — Nolan Morlock, Cavan Benjamin, Nunu Mayer; Champlain Valley — Brady Jones, Jessie McCray

Highlights: Morlock scored a hat trick and Benjamin tacked on a goal in Hartford’s win. Mayer, the Hurricanes’ netminder, made 16 saves. Jones scored Champlain Valley’s lone goal, while McCray made 29 saves.

Coach’s quote: “Winning five games over the holiday break is a testament to how far this group has come from day one. We’ll be tested significantly in the upcoming weeks as the major portion of our Division I games approaches us.” — Hartford’s Todd Bebeau

Key players: Hanover — Jake Rotchford (2 goals), Will Hopkins, Henry Cotter, Ronan Przydzielski (1 goal each). Bryce Morancy (15 saves). Cotter and Przydzielski each had 2 assists.

Girls Hockey

Hartford 11, Brattleboro 2

Highlights: Chelsea Stockwell, Ali Morlock and Sophie Daniels each got their first career varsity goals in Hartford’s vicoty. Paisley Danaher and Vivian Tsouknakis also scored their first goals of the season. Every player scored at least one point.

Swimming

Stevens and Lebanon girls
finish strong at meet

NEW LONDON — Stevens High senior Sara Gaspard won the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke in a meet at Colby-Sawyer College on Friday with six schools competing.

Gaspard won the free in 58 seconds and the backstroke in 1:13. Emilee Hall of Stevens won the 50-yard free (30.2), and Lebanon’s Hailey Belardo won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:16). Belardo was second in the 100 free with Stevens Aubree Herzog fourth. Lebanon’s Anna Vecherina was second in the 50 free.

In the dual-meet format, Lebanon girls defeated Bishop Brady while the Stevens girls beat Bishop Brady and Lebanon.
