STOWE, Vt. — Hartford High’s freestyle snowboarding team competed against 10 others schools at Stowe Mountain Resort on Wednesday, with three of the team’s seven riders finishing in a tie for 20th place among 47 competitors.

Freshmen Cavan O’Brian, Owen Parker and Benjamin Lang scored 48 points on the two runs.

Also competing in the slopestyle meet were freshman Theo Vassiliou, sophomores Cody Church and Mason Chase and senior Tenrick Renninger.

“The Hartford High School ride team has a lot of young talent, and there is much to look forward to in events and years to come,” said coach John Mitchell.

The Hurricanes have a rail jam and slopestyle meet slated for Wednesday, hosted by Lake Region, at Jay Peak.
