LEBANON — Lebanon High senior Rebecca Wright tacked another honor onto her basketball resume on Friday when the New Hampshire Basketball Coaches Organization bestowed its Ms. New Hampshire Basketball award on her.

Wright was an all-NHBCO first-team selection for NHIAA Division II for all four her season with the Raiders and was recently selected as the D-II girls basketball player of the year for the third straight time. The center averaged an Upper Valley-leading 22.65 points per game during this past season in which Lebanon went 19-3 and shared the D-II state title. Wright earned an outright state championship with the Raiders as a freshman in 2017.

“Becky has meant so much to our program,” Lebanon coach Tim Kehoe said in a news release. “She is humble, loyal, hardworking and fiercely competitive but, most of all, a great teammate.

“Some kids were born to play basketball, but I feel Becky has worked hard to make herself be the best player to come out of Lebanon. One of the most coachable kids I have ever had, and the best thing I say about her is she is a better person than a player.”

Wright broke former Dartmouth College standout Jayne Daigle’s Lebanon High scoring record during the recent season, finishing with a total of 1,795 points, a Raider record for boys and girls. She also amassed 974 rebounds and 178 blocked shots during her career. Lebanon went 85-10 during her four seasons; she’ll head to Southern New Hampshire University this fall.

The NHBCO’s Ms. and Mr. New Hampshire Basketball award is based on a vote of association members. The vote considers three aspects of each candidate: a 50% consideration for basketball accoplishments combined with 25% consideration for both academic achievement and sportsmanship.

Exeter’s Ryan Grijalva won the Mr. New Hampshire Basketball award.
