NORTH SUTTON, N.H. — Sydney Gonyea’s offensive prowess continues to grow.
The junior forward scored two goals and added an assist for Lebanon (3-1) in its 4-1 field hockey win Friday afternoon over Kearsarge. The Raiders led 2-1 at the half thanks to one of Gonyea’s goals and Molly Smith scoring on a pass from Maddy Finnell with 1:56 remaining. Sally Tretter added a goal and Autumn Crowell made eight saves.
Lebanon travels to Hopkinton on Monday.
BRISTOL, N.H. — Carolin Marchand scored five minutes into the game, and the Royals couldn’t mount a comeback.
Coach Jenn Hammond was pleased with her team in the second half, however, as Mascoma created six corner opportunities, one of which bounced off the post. Sophmore goalie Emilie Conrad had eight saves for the Royals, which play at Division II Hanover on Wednesday.
HANOVER — Miranda Galbraith tallied a hat trick, Anna Stafford scored two goals and Hanover stayed undefeated.
Coach Jean Essex commented that she thought her the Marauders (4-0) played sloppy at times, but some of that was due to players out with a fever. Senior midfielder Macy Curtis had a goal and assist. Hillary Mackall, Kate Blaisdell (2) and Maggie Logan added assists for Hanover.
Ella Edmonds stopped two shots for the Marauders, which host Mascoma on Wednesday.
MANCHESTER, Vt. — The Wasps played well on turf, with two ne goalies, Sophie Yates and Myah Earle, sharing playing time.
The two combined for two saves in the loss. Woodstock (1-3-1) had six corner opportunities and took 10 shots, and will host rival Windsor on Tuesday.
NEWPORT — Lacy McNeel scored the game-winning goal three minutes into overtime to give the Tigers (4-0) the win.
The senior forward’s goal was one of two in the game, and she also had an assist. Newport entered the half up, 1-0, thanks to a goal from Maddie Miller with 58 seconds remaining, with assists from McNeel and Eliza Bates.
In the second half, Bates scored a goal with 12 minutes. Kelsey Wheeler made 12 stops in net for the Tigers, which host out-of-state foe Bellows Falls on Monday.
MERRIMACK, N.H. — Charlie Adams had a hat trick and assisted on two goals all in the first half to lead Hanover to a rebound win after its loss Tuesday at Bedford.
The senior midfielder’s first goal of the match came two minutes in on a pass from Eli Stack, who also scored a goal along with Latham Allison. The Marauders sixth goal came on an own goal from Merrimack. Junior midfielders Jackson Lake and Nathan Subrahmanian played a strong game for the Maraduers, coach Rob Grabill said.
Hanover’s (3-1) set to host Keene on Tuesday.
BRISTOL, N.H. — Entering the second half scoreless, Mascoma’s Ben Seiler netted the game-winning goal off of a Ben Schwarz pass in the 46th minute. In total, the Royals peppered the Newfound goalie with 27 shots. In the 74th minute Dylan Pelton struck a pass to Gabe Sperry, who added on to their lead. With the win Mascoma improves to 3-1 on the season and hosts Gilford on Tuesday.
BRADFORD, Vt. — Cole Nanopoulos had 15 saves, but the Olympians couldn’t hold off Enosburg Falls.
Oxbow (0-3) played a close first half and travel to Winooski on Wednesday.
WINDSOR — The Yellowjackets (2-1-1) reeled off the final three goals of the match for a comeback win at MacLeay-Royce Field.
The Jacks’ Evelyn Page secured a 1-1 halftime tie with a 37th-minute direct free kick to counter a 20th-minute penalty from Green Mountain’s Madison Wilson. Windsor’s Olivia Rockwood converted a pass from Elliot Rupp to put the Jacks ahead to stay in the 68th minute, and Rupp provided a PK clincher with a minute left in the match.
Adi Prior had four saves in goal for Windsor, which hosts White River Valley on Tuesday.
SHARON — Junior midfielder Isabelle Adler scored in the first half, but the Phoenix couldn’t stop Blue Mountain, which scored the winning goal in double overtime.
Sharon (1-3) head to Winooski on Tuesday.
WOODSTOCK — The Olympians (2-1) took control of a seesaw contest by scoring three straight touchdowns on either side of halftime to keep the Wasps (0-3) winless.
The O’s answered three first-half Woodstock touchdowns with three of their own, all on plays of 50 yards or longer. The last tied the contest at 20-20, and Oxbow took its first lead of the game on a touchdown with 20.9 seconds left in the first half following an interception. The O’s scored again on their first possession of the second half and held off the Wasps the rest of the way.
Corey White ran for one touchdown and caught a pass from Trevor White for another to lead Woodstock, which also received TDs from Wyatt Begin and Eric Blanchard.
Both teams return to action next Saturday as Oxbow hosts BFA-Fairfax and Woodstock travels to Mill River.
CLAREMONT —The Tigers converted two of the Cardinals’ six turnovers into second-half touchdowns that reversed an 18-13 halftime deficit and left both teams at 1-1 on the young season.
Newport’s Jagger Lovely returned an interception 40 yards in the third quarter for points, giving the visitors a 19-18 lead. Devyn Heino gave the Tigers breathing room when he scooped up a Stevens fumble following a sack and returned it 42 yards for a fourth-quarter score.
Darshawn Chesser had a 5-run TD run and Marius Edwards connected with Austin Malool on a 27-yard scoring pass for Newport’s first-half points. Keaghan McAllister had a pair of short TD runs and Lucas Mudge caught a 32-yard pass from Owen Taylor for Stevens’ other touchdown.
The Cards visit InterLakes-Moultonborough on Friday. Newport goes to Campbell next Saturday.
DENVER — Lebanon’s Pat Pelletier and former Dartmouth College golfer James Pleat open play at the United States Golf Association Mid-Amateur Championship on Saturday afternoon.
Pelletier, out of Carter Country Club, earned an exemption into the tournament by virtue of his top-30 standing in the World Amateur Golf Rankings’ mid-am table. Pleat, of Nashua Country Club, made the field by claiming one of five spots at a qualifier in New Haven, Conn., earlier this summer.
The 264-player tournament will be staged over Colorado Golf Club and CommonGround Golf Club in suburban Denver. Pelletier opens the first of two medal-play rounds at 2:40 p.m. at CGC, with Pleat starting at CommonGround at 3:13 p.m.
All players in the field will have stroke-play rounds at each course, from which the top 64 scores advance to match play. All matches will be staged at CGC starting on Monday.
MANCHESTER, Vt. — Brady Hathorn and Jared Vanderpot tied for medalist to lead Hartford to its win during an 18-hole match played at Ekwanok Country Club.
The Hurricanes (6-6) travel to Rutland on Monday.

MANCHESTER — Laura Henry led the Royals and Audrey May had a team-high six aces on 18 serves.
Jadyn Bates and Cardigan Loupis combined for 19 assists. Cardigan Loupis contributed five aces on 12 serves. Mascoma (2-0) hosts Franklin on Monday.
JERICHO, Vt. — The Eagles fell to 1-3 on the season and host Lyndon on Wednesday.
NEWTON, Mass. — Despite sophomore goalkeeper Isabella Santucci’s career-high 20 saves, the Big Green dropped a non-conference contest at Boston College.
Santucci is the first Dartmouth goalie since Meagan Vakiener in 2009 to turn aside 20 shots from the opposition in a game. Seniors Katie Spanos and Carmen Braceras each scored and picked up an assist for the Big Green (0-3) in the loss.
HANOVER — The Dartmouth volleyball team dropped its home opener to Hofstra, 26-24, 25-21, 25-18.
Leading the way for the Big Green (2-2) was Grace Wiczek with eight kills and three blocks. Junior Elise Petit added seven kills and a pair of blocks to go along with a service ace. Nicole Liddle also finished with seven kills, while Carly Towers had six.
Dartmouth has a doubleheader Saturday with matches against Hartford and Fordham.
