MONTPELIER — Thetford and Oxbow, the two foes in the VPA Division III girls basketball championship game earlier this month, have placed a combined four players on the all-Capital Division team.

The Panthers, who edged the Olympians, 42-36, for the title on March 9 at Barre Auditorium, have three players on the list. Team-leading scorer Kiana Johnson (12.27 points per game) made the six-player first team; teammates Emi Vaughan (10.81 ppg) and Grace Davis (8.86 ppg) landed on the second team.

Oxbow, which made a surprise run to its first final since 2012, had one representative. Mariah Shumway (5.14 ppg), a second-team choice, was a key part of an Olympian defense that was among the more thrifty in the Upper Valley.
