New London — Senior Jordan Teixeira scored 6:05 into overtime to lift the Colby-Sawyer College field hockey team to a 3-2 win over UMaine-Farmington on Sunday afternoon, the Chargers’ first win against the Beavers in eight tries.

Teixeira’s goal maintained Colby-Sawyer’s perfect mark in extra-time matches. The Chargers (10-4) have won all four of their overtime contests.

Colby-Sawyer owned the first half, getting goals from Alie Jones and Teixeira, the latter coming on a penalty corner after the first-half buzzer had sounded. UMF (1-9) answered Kasey Talarico and Chloe Horn goals in the second half.

The Chargers celebrate senior day on Saturday at noon against Becker.
