The Hanover High girls hockey team headed north for a pair of challenging games on Saturday and Sunday. The Bears tied BFA-St. Albans, 1-1, in Saturday’s contest and Beekmantown (N.Y.) Central, 3-3, in the second clash.

Hanover received its Saturday goal from Maeve Lee, with Nora Bradley assisting. Eleanor Edson made 29 saves while the Bears put 32 shots on goal. The match between the New Hampshire and Vermont Division I champions included breakaway stops at either end during the overtime period at the Collins Perley Center.

Sunday, the Bears received goals from Lee and Bradley for a 2-0 lead after a period. The hosts halved their deficit entering the third period, then scored twice in 23 seconds to take a 3-2 lead. Julie Lawe scored with four minutes remaining in the third period to forge the final deadlock.

Edson made 25 saves and Bradley had two assists. Lucy Braga and Rory Seelig had assists, the latter making an anticipated return after missing more than a month with a back injury.

Hanover (11-2-2) hosts Bedford (5-6) on Saturday.
