Sadly, it appears the groundhog lied.

Just when it appeared the Upper Valley’s spring high school teams might get an early start on outdoor workouts, Mother Nature came and dropped a load of snow on the neighborhood. That’s forced programs such as Lebanon High girls lacrosse back to a familiar situation: indoor practices.

The Raiders, under the guidance of longtime coach Sara Ecker, are makig full use of the school, doing stick drills in Lang Metcalf Gym and fitness work in the hallways. They’ll be sharing the gymnasium for the time being — until spring really decides to, um, stick around.
