Joseph Alfred Spinney

WILDER, VT — Joseph A. Spinney, 58, often referred to as “Al” or “Joe”, passed away of heart complications on March 11th, 2019, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.

He was born September 5, 1960 in Nashua, NH the oldest son of the late Jacqueline V. (Emond) Spinney and Lionel R. Spinney.

Al was an amazing father, husband and grandfather, he made sure his family was happy and taken care of. Al enjoyed playing softball, making snowmen, as well as other outdoor activities with his grandchildren. He snuggled his cats Luna and Damien. Joe and Eva enjoyed many trips to Foxwoods, spending time at the beach and camping in Newport, NH. He loved going to Patriots games, and watching his favorite Tom Brady. One of Al’s favorite pastimes was rearranging the furniture. It wasn’t uncommon for the family to come home or wake-up in the morning to find the furniture rearranged throughout the house. Al liked to tinker and keep busy, he was always fixing vehicles or electronics, or building something for his grandchildren. Al’s generous spirit found him helping anyone in need; from a broken down traveler on the side of the road to a family member, he touched many people in his short life. His heart was full of love for his wife, daughter and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Eva (Marks) Spinney; daughter Tabitha Spinney and granddaughters Liberty and Kaydence Wilcox all of Wilder. He is also survived by siblings Mrs. Judith (Spinney) and Domingo Pacheco of Nashua, Ms. Jacqueline Berry of Florida, Mrs. Tina (Spinney) and Glenroy Joseph of Londonderry, Mr. Eugene and Kimberly Robinson of Bow, Mr. Scott and Dorothy Robinson of Germany, Mr. Thomas Robinson, Mr. Joshua Robinson, Marion Robinson and Martha Heather Robinson all of Nashua, Tootsie Robinson of Manchester and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by William Marks of Nashua, Mr. Bernard Marks of Florida, Mr. James Marks of Massachusetts, Mrs. Loretta (Marks) and Kevin Corcoran of Hudson, Mrs. Carol (Marks) and Matthew Griffin of Milford and many nieces and nephews.

Joe was predeceased by his sister Caroline Spinney and stepfather Eugene Robinson. Al was predeceased by brother-in-law Gregory Marks, and in-laws Mr. Bernard and Irene Marks.

Visiting hours will be held on March 17, 2019 at the Knights Funeral Home in White River Junction VT, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Followed by church service at St. Anthony’s Church in WRJ, VT. at 11:00 am on Monday March 18, 2019.
