Alan Dwyer, of Rye, N.H., and Mindy Scruggs, and her daughter Katie, 7, of Claremont, N.H., decide where to go to eat when meeting in Norwich, Vt., on Wednesday, Sept., 13, 2023. Using the trail name Legoman, Dwyer is hiking the Appalachian Trail this summer, starting in March in Georgia. Scruggs has been following the progress of her longtime friend via a GPS tracker Dwyer is using. Scruggs is also using the information to help teach her daughter about geography and how to use a map as part of her homeschooling. (Valley News - Jennifer Hauck) Copyright Valley News.
