Highlights: Andy Lindquist led the team with two hits in a shutout win over the Pythons, Lebanon’s first victory of the spring campaign. Catie Bachelder hit a single for the first Raider RBI, and Amy Dixon-Vestal hit a triple to drive in the second one in the third. Starting pitcher Ava Kaercher struck out 18 Pelham batters. The Raiders dropped a 17-0 decision to Oyster River 24 hours later.

Baseball

Rivendell 6, West Rutland 2

Key players: Rivendell — Christian Ditcheos: 2-for-3 with RBI singles in the fourth and sixth innings; Will Knowles: complete game (118 pitches), 10 strikouts, 5 hits and 1-for-2 at the plate with an RBI double in the seventh; Cillian Kenneally: 1-for-3 and two sparkling defensive plays at second; Kaydin Gilman: running catch in center and a throw to second for a double play to end the fourth.

Will Knowles kept them West Rutland off-balance most of the day. Defense was solid behind him, including Cillian Kenneally’s two sparkling defensive plays at second base. Vincent Petrone went 1-for-2 and scored twice, including once on a steal of home. Drew Gallagher was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Jake Blackburn and Ben Runstein also went 1-for-2 with a pair of RBIs apiece.

Highlights: An 11-run first inning set the table for Thetford, led by home runs from Sarazin and Oshoniyi. Winning pitcher JD Farrell threw three hitless innings en route to the victory.

Hartford 3

Key players: White River Valley — Wyatt Cadwell, Brayden Russ, Charles Young, Isaac Wimett, Jacob Benoit, Donavan Craven, Ty Couture; Hartford — Wyatt Chambers, Hugh Wendling

Highlights: Wyatt Cadwell went the distance for the Wildcats, throwing a complete-game gem. Cadwell allowed seven hits and three runs, striking out 12 to get the win. At the plate, Cadwell helped himself by going 4-for-4 with two doubles on the day. Charles Young was Cadwell’s courtesy runner and scored four times to help the Cats. Brayden Russ had a big day as well, going 3-for-5 with three runs scored and playing very well behind the plate. Other offensive standouts for WRV: Quinlan Grace (1-for-3), Donavan Craven (1-for-3), Isaac Wimett (1-for-4), Ty Couture (1-for-4).

Track and field

Mascoma sweeps
Winnisquam meet

The Mascoma boys and girls track and field teams swept Tuesday’s meet at Winnisquam, with sophomore Sam Joyce setting a school record in the boys 200 meters.

Joyce, who ran the 200 in 23.75 seconds, also won the 100 meters in 11.49 seconds.

Other top finishes for the boys included Gunner Currier (first, 1,600), Trevor Maheu (first, 3,200), Carl Russell (second, shot put), Colin Myers (first, shot put; second, discus; second, javelin) and Barnaby Diehn (first, discus). Joyce, Currier, Reece Yorke and Kayden Wilson finished second in the 4x400 relay.

First place for the girls were Baylee Hill in the high jump, Anna Emerson in the pole vault, Montana Ballard in the long jump and triple jump and Georgia Kondi in the shot put and discus. Aubrey Meyveagaci was second in the 3,200 meters and javelin, and Ballard finished second in the 300 meter hurdles.

Boys team scores: Mascoma 151, Winnisquam 147, Belmont 94, Tilton 59, Prospect Mountain 57, Raymond 47, Monadnock 20.

Girls team scores: Mascoma 156, Belmont 112, Winnisquam 77, Tilton 73, Raymond 53, Prospect Mountain 49.

Hartford and Windsor
compete at Rutland

Hartford senior Ayodele Lowe won the 100-meter dash, high jump and triple jump and the Hurricanes placed second among eight teams at Tuesday’s meet at Rutland High School.

The Hartford girls were third, one point behind Springfield among seven teams, with Nicola Husmann winning the pole vault and Geneva Durgin winning the long jump.

Besides Lowe, first-place finishes for the Hartford boys came from Elliott Brook (800 meters), Bennett Moreno, (1,500 meters) and Matthew Tsouknakis (javelin). The Hartford 4x400 relay team of Jayden Forbes, Jaidin Bennett, Matthew Schaefer and Tighe Hrabchak took first, and Brooks, Hrabchak, Scott McSherry and Colby Albrecht were second in the 4x800. Hrabchak was second in the 400 meters, and Alec Husmann took second in the shot put.

The Hartford girls relay team of Aria Smith, Rosemary Dalpra, Scarlett Brooks and Durgin won the 4x800. The Hurricanes’ Dakota Smith, Maddie Carbino, Brooks and Durgin were second in the 4x400, and Dakota Smith, Carbino, Brooks and Kathryn Summarsell were second in the 4x100.

Sophia Dufour won the 100-meter hurdles for the Windsor girls. Second-place finishes came from Amelia Rockwood (400 meters), Marz Percy (shot put) and Sophia Rockwood (pole vault). Eban Margolis was second in the pole vault, and Tanner Crane second in the long jump for Windsor’s boys.

Boys team scores: Springfield 147, Harford 130, Rutland Senior 105, Arlington 47, Mount Anthony 42, Long Trail 34, Windsor 24, Otter Valley 4.

Girls team scores: Mount Anthony 84, Springfield 81, Hartford 80, Windsor 77, Rutland 67, Long Trail 55, Arlington 52.
