Hanover police seek suspect in high-speed pursuit

HANOVER — Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect in a high-speed pursuit through the Upper Valley last month.

Hanover police have issued an arrest warrant for Dustin Sheltra, of West Charleston, Vt. Sheltra is accused of reckless conduct, reckless driving, disobeying an officer and operating without a valid license.

On June 16, a high-speed pursuit that began in Hartford continued into New Hampshire, according to a news release on Wednesday by the Hanover Police Department.

The suspect vehicle, a black Nissan Titan pickup with a Connecticut license plate, had been involved in another high-speed pursuit the previous day with Vermont State Police, according to news release.

Police located the truck in downtown Hanover, but the driver failed to stop for Hanover officers and fled at high speed, according to police, who alleged the driver put lives in danger as the truck nearly collided with other vehicles and pedestrians. The driver fled into Lebanon and the vehicle was not located.

Upon further investigation, a Hanover investigator identified Sheltra as the suspected driver.
