In 1994, Doug married Sandra Chouinard and they made their home in Enfield, New Hampshire, where they lived for 24 years before moving to New London, New Hampshire. Together, they enjoyed many outdoor activities, including skiing, hiking, bicycling, sailing and tennis. Doug and Sandra also own an alpaca farm, and when he was not immersed in the family business, Doug could be found fencing and caring for the alpacas, which he often referred to as “doing the second shift.” Throughout his life, Doug enjoyed spending time with his family at the Evans summer house on Drakes Island in Wells, Maine.
