Tommy Smith of Notts Excavating demolishes the former Kleen Laundromat on Mechanic Street in Lebanon, N.H., on Monday, April 4, 2022. Initially, Domino's Pizza franchise partner Keith Bell said the plan was to undertake a "complete gut job" of the building and renovate the interior for the new Domino's. But "once we got the sheetrock off we saw cracks in the foundation," he said, and realized the entire building would have to be demolished. Now Bell said he and partner Robert Keith, who also own Domino’s franchises in West Lebanon and Hanover, plan to submit a site plan review "in a couple weeks" to the city's planning board for approval to build an entirely new Domino's at the Mechanic Street location. At first the partners were targeting a Spring opening, but Bell said that has been pushed likely to the Fall, as they have to build from scratch and deal with supply chain issues during the pandemic which are delaying construction everywhere.
