HANOVER — The Dartmouth College volleyball team picked up a straight-set win, 25-20, 25-13 and 25-21, over visiting Penn on Friday night at Leede Arena.

Ellie Blain and Bomi Ogunlari combined for 25 kills without an error for the Big Green (11-7, 3-6 Ivy), which produced a season-high .371 attack percentage while picking up their third win in the last four matches.

Madeline McGregor had a game-high 20 kills for Penn (5-13, 2-1 Ivy).

Dartmouth broke open what was an 8-7 score in the third set with seven straight points to pull away for good. The Big Green will host Princeton on Saturday at 5 p.m.

Women’s HockeyColgate 4, Dartmouth 2

HANOVER — The Big Green fell to No. 4 Colgate, dropping to 0-2-0 on the young season.

Dartmouth got power-play goals from both Laura Fuoco and CC Bowlby. Fuoco’s goal in the first period helped knot the score at 1-1 after one. Bowlby then put Dartmouth in front, 2-1, with her goal on the advantage in the second. The Raiders would answer later in the second to tie it back up and then scored twice in the third to get the win.

Goalie Maggie Emerson made 26 saves for the Big Green. Lauren Messier had an assist. Dartmouth hosts Cornell on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Men’s HockeyHarvard 9, Dartmouth 3

HANOVER — The Big Green surrendered six goals in the second period in a loss to visiting Harvard in the Dartmouth ECAC season opener.

Tanner Palocsik, Joey Musa and Ryan Sorkin all scored for Dartmouth. Tyler Borsch, Braiden Dorfman and Trym Lokkeberg had assists.

Harvard had a 2-1 lead after the first period before exploding for six goals in the second to take command. Dartmouth is back in action on Saturday at 8 p.m. against UConn at Thompson Arena.

Men’s TennisBrown 7, Dartmouth 2

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The Big Green picked up a pair of singles wins in the first day of action at the Harvard Match Invitational.

Alex Knox-Jones earned a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles for Dartmouth. Sid Chari added a 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 win at No. 5 singles for the other Big Green win.

Dartmouth returns to action on Saturday for day two of the event.
