WASHINGTON — Former Dartmouth College goalkeeper Brian Wiese held little mercy for his alma mater on Saturday, guiding No. 1 Georgetown to a 3-0 men’s soccer victory over the Big Green at Shaw Field.

The Hoyas (7-0-0) took command early with two goals just 130 seconds apart. Dante Polvara got on the board at 9:17, and Zach Riviere followed suit at 11:27. Sean Zawadzki added an insurance marker in the 62nd minute for Georgetown. Daniel Wu had two assists for the Hoyas.

Wiese is a 1995 Dartmouth graduate and three-time all-Ivy League netminder for the Big Green. In his 16th season at Georgetown, he coached the Hoyas to the NCAA championship in 2019.

The Big Green (0-5-0) was outshot, 16-9, although it held a narrow 5-4 edge in shots on target. Alex Budnik made one save.

Dartmouth continues its long season-opening road trip at Hartford on Tuesday night.
