Windsor firefighters Matt Burke and Dana Wright douse a brush fire off of Jenneville Road in Hartland, Vt., on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024. Due to high winds, the fire started by after wires came down and contacted the ground. Fire departments from Woodstock, Windsor, West Windsor, Ascutney, Hartland and Hartford responded to the call. Brush fires have been a recurring problem -- statewide, a burn ban is in effect until November 11.
