Boston — Ty Amonte buried the game-winning goal at 1:55 of double overtime as Boston University reached the final of the Beanpot college hockey tournament with a 3-2 win over Harvard on Monday night.

The Crimson (10-9-4) twice rallied from one-goal deficits. Logan Cockerill staked the Terriers (15-11-2) to a first-period lead only to have Ty Pelton-Byce tie it in the second. Brandon Hickey returned BU to the lead 32 seconds into the final stanza, which Harvard eliminated through Jack Badini less than two minutes later.

Jake Oettinger made 47 saves in the BU net. Merrick Madsen had 39 stops for the Crimson.

BU will face off against Northeastern in Monday night’s championship game after the Huskies blanked Boston College, 3-0, in Monday’s opener.

Despite being outshot on the night, 37-32, Northeastern (16-7-5) scored once in every period and rode Cayden Primeau’s 37-save shutout netminding to victory. Dylan Sikura, Nolan Stevens and Adam Gaudette provided the goals.
