Nurse Named Director of QualityAt Mt. Ascutney Hospital

Windsor — Johanna Beliveau, a registered nurse, has been named director of quality, patient safety, and compliance at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center.

The newly created position is part of the hospital’s senior leadership team, reporting directly to CEO Dr. Joseph Perras.

As director, Beliveau will be responsible for quality and patient safety initiatives and ensuring compliance with state and federal health care regulations.

Before joining Mt. Ascutney Hospital, she served as associate chief nursing officer at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, as well as DHMC’s administrative director of patient care services, director of nursing quality and patient safety, and senior clinical quality specialist. Prior to her tenure at DHMC, she was clinical process manager and quality specialist at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and held a variety of roles in hospice care organizations, from nurse manager to director of hospice services.

Beliveau is a nurse director fellow with the American Organization of Nurse Executives and a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, the American Nurses Association, the Organization of Nurse Leaders and the American College of Healthcare Executives.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Fitchburg (Mass.) State College and an MBA from Rosemont (Pa.) College. She also earned the designation of Lean Sigma Six Black Belt.

An accomplished professional with expertise in nursing, hospital and hospice operations, and a long history of mentorship and coaching, Beliveau is uniquely qualified to meet the hospital’s “ambitious goals,” Perras said. “She has used her skills to exceed operational performance targets and improve clinical outcomes.”

Her initial tasks will include a hospital-wide assessment of quality and patient safety programs as the organization prepares for an upcoming Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services survey.
