Adeline "Addie" Hackett

LEBANON, NH — Adeline “Addie” Jean LaCroix Hackett, 77 passed away on Saturday December 22, 2018 at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine surrounded by her family. She was born on June 13, 1941 in Lebanon, New Hampshire the daughter of Rosaire and Yvette (Deschamps) LaCroix. She grew up in Lebanon and graduated from LHS in 1959.

She married Kenneth Edward Hackett of White River Junction, Vermont on July 11, 1959 at Sacred Heart Church in Lebanon. Together they enjoyed over 58 years of marriage. They had three children and lived in WRJ, VT; Lebanon, New Hampshire (where they raised their children); Wilder, Vermont; Las Vegas, Nevada and Palm Bay, Florida. They spent many wonderful summers entertaining family and friends at their camp on Goose Pond in NH and in later years their camp in Maine.

She loved Christmas as family was everything to her. She also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. One thing was for sure, regardless of what part of the country she lived in, she made new friends quickly.

She worked at Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital before beginning her career at the U.S. Postal Service from where she retired in 2003 after 25 years of service.

She was predeceased by her parents, an infant sister Alice LaCroix, sister Annette Mayette, brother Reil LaCroix and her beloved husband Kenny, whom she lost 11/28/2017.

She is survived by her son, Mark Edward Hackett and his wife Sylvia of Billerica, Ma, Her son Michael Robert Hackett of Anacordes, Wa, Her daughter Michelle Anne LePage and her husband Michael of Westbrook Me, Her sister Alice Kidder of Palm Bay, Fl, her brother Arthur LaCroix and his wife Debbie of Pelham, NH, her 3 grandchildren Mariah Adeline, Mikiel Kenneth, and Morgan Annette LePage all of Westbrook Me, along with many Nieces and Nephews and Friends.

In the past year she had moved to Maine to be closer to her Daughter and Family and resided at the Independent Retirement Community The Woods at Canco in Portland. She made many friends among the Residents and Staff. The family would like to extend a big thank you to her friends and the staff there.

Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 2-3 PM at the Westbrook Chapel of Dolby, Blais &Segee, 35 Church St. A joint celebration of life service will follow for both Addie and her beloved husband Kenny.
