HAVERHILL — A 19-year old Vermont man has been identified as the deceased individual whose body was discovered inside a Haverhill business on Monday, the state Attorney General’s Office said on Tuesday.

Victor Maldonado’s remains were found inside the business on Monday morning and his death was initially considered “suspicious,” authorities said Monday.

On Tuesday the Attorney General’s Office said the investigation into Maldonado’s death continues but based on investigators’ current information there is “no known danger to the public.”

An autopsy has been conducted by the state’s chief medical examiner but the cause and manner of Maldonado’s death were “pending further testing” as of Tuesday afternoon, according to the Attorney General’s Office.

Senior Assistant Attorney General Peter Hinckley confirmed that Maldonado was from Vermont.

Maldonado’s remains were found inside Robbins Property Maintenance on Forest Street in the Haverhill village of Woodsville, confirmed Steve Robbins, owner of the building and property. The building is located near the back side of the Walmart in Woodsville and has a large, garage-like structure at one end.

On Tuesday, a sign on the door said “closed” and a door at the garage end was open.

“I know nothing more than what the press release says,” Robbins said when reached by phone Tuesday, referring to news release issued Monday by the Attorney General’s Office. Robbins said he did not know Maldonado or why or how he came to be found at his property.
