Woodstock seeks public input on police chief

WOODSTOCK — Woodstock residents will have an opportunity to share what qualities they seek in a new police chief during a forum from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Town Hall.

Police Chief Robbie Blish, who has served as Woodstock’s chief since July 2011 is set to retire July 16, Woodstock Municipal Manager Eric Duffy said. Prior to coming to Woodstock, Blish served as police chief in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and was an officer in the Springfield, Vt., police department.

The town has hired Jim Baker, of JW Leadership Consulting in Arlington, Vt., to assist with the search, Duffy said. The goal is to have someone hired by the time Blish retires.

The forum is being hosted by the Woodstock Village Board of Trustees and will take place on the second floor of Town Hall, which is located at 31 the Green in Woodstock Village.
