Town Meeting preview: Woodstock Village voters to decide on audit changes

Article of note: One article asks voters whether they would like to eliminate the elected auditor positions and move into a contract with an a public accountant or auditor’s firm for the village’s annual audit.

Contested races: There are no contested races.

Budgets and spending articles: The proposed budget is $1.46 million, of which $631,000 is slated to come from taxes. The bulk of the budget, $1 million, is to support the village’s police department, which is up about $50,000 from last year. Overall, this proposal is up slightly from $1.38 million voters considered last year, which included $599,000 from taxes. 

When, where and how to vote: Woodstock Village is slated to hold its annual meeting on March 21 at Town Hall. Ballot voting for trustees will be from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. and the in-person meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
