WOODSTOCK — The voters of Woodstock voted to allow the sale of cannabis in a 448 to 387 vote. However, they voted down an article that would have established a 1% options tax in the town. The vote was close, with 417 voting in favor of the tax and 426 voting against it. Without the tax, the town will not receive any revenue from cannabis sales unless the state legislature redirects some of the excise tax to municipalities.
Meanwhile, Susan Ford defeated Ernie Fernandez in a contested race for an open two-year seat on the Selectboard in a 519 to 318 vote.
