HARTLAND— A 57-year-old Claremont woman was killed after her car overturned in the median off Interstate 91 Monday morning after colliding with a box truck, police said.

Natalia Brodeur was taken to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where she died from her injuries, according to a news release by Vermont State Police.

Another driver who was involved in the collision, 64-year-old Bart Blonstein, of Connecticut, was cited with a civil violation for failing to maintain the lane of travel resulting in an accident and fatality, police said.

The crash occurred around 7:15 a.m. when Brodeur, driving a Toyota Corolla, and Blonstein, driving a Freightliner box truck, were both traveling northbound on Interstate 91 in Hartland. The two vehicles “struck in a side collision, which forced Brodeur’s vehicle off the roadway,” the release said.

Blonstein, who came to a stop in the breakdown lane, did not have any injuries as a result of the crash.

The accident is under investigation and police are awaiting results of an autopsy.
