Town Meeting Preview: West Windsor to decide on library purchase for $1

The Mount Ascutney School District annual meeting will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, at Windsor High School’s Lois F. White Theater. West Windsor’s Town Meeting will be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, at Story Memorial Hall, with Australian ballot voting from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the same location.

WEST WINDSOR — Voters at Town Meeting will be asked if the town should purchase the Mary L. Blood Library for $1, and also approve a separate article of $16,507 to help with its operations.

A general fund and highway budget of a combined $1.367 million also is on the warning. Town officers are elected from the floor.

Separate bond votes by Australian ballot call for $700,000 to repair and upgrade a sewerage system in part of Brownsville, and another $425,000 to upgrade the public water supply system.

On the school side, the Mount Ascutney School District is seeking approval for an $11.6 million budget, or education spending of $15,718 per equalized pupil.
