LEBANON — The Route 12A dry bridge at the intersection of State Route 12A, South Main Street and Seminary Hill in West Lebanon will be closed until further notice starting Thursday morning.

The closure, which is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., comes after the bridge was deemed unsafe after a recent inspection by certified engineers, according to a news release from the City of Lebanon.

The span will remain closed until “necessary temporary shoring work can be completed to maintain stability and safety.”

The closure is expected to “significantly impact traffic” and drivers are warned to “expect changes to their daily routes and plan for additional travel time.”

Traffic in both directions will be rerouted.

Southbound traffic will be directed up Route4/Miracle Mile and north on Interstate 89 to Exit 20.

Northbound traffic on Route 12A from West Lebanon will be detoured along the same route in the opposite direction.

Pedestrian and bicycle traffic will be allowed when there is not active construction.

While the bridge is closed, there will also be no service on the Advance Transit Red Route and the Saturday Blue-Red Route between stops on Main Street in West Lebanon and the shopping plazas on 12A, according to the Advance Transit website.

The dry bridge was already slated for a full replacement by the city; construction is expected to begin in June and finish in October 2026.
