WEATHERSFIELD – Voters narrowly elected Wendy Smith to a two-year term on the town’s Selectboard.
Smith defeated August Murray for a two-year term on the Selectboard by a vote of 193 to 189. Incumbent David Fuller received 237 votes to secure a three-year term on the board by pushing back a challenge from Joseph Bublat (128). Smith received 76 votes for the three-year term.
Voters also approved all articles, including authorizing the Selectboard to borrow up to $270,000 to buy a new fire truck for the Ascutney Volunteer Fire Association.
All spending items on the school warning passed. Nicole Gagnon won a one-year term on the school board, defeating write-in candidate Vincent Jewell 257 to 142. Incumbent Mark Yuengling was reelected to a one-year term on the board, defeating write-in candidate Craig Bania, 310 to 85. Anne Marie Redmond was also reelected to a one-year term, garnering 352 votes.
