Weathersfield elects Selectboard member in contested race

WEATHERSFIELD — Voters elected deForest Bearse to a three-year term on the Selectboard.
Bearse defeated August Murray 422 to 261 in an Australian ballot vote that took place Tuesday.
Kelly O’Brien ran unopposed for a two-year term on the board.
Voters also approved $1.89 million municipal budget, a $1.28 million highway budget and $80,000 for municipal firefighter stipends.
Residents narrowly approved the $8.89 million Weathersfield School District budget, 365 to 342 in Australian ballot voting on the school warning.
Anne Marie Redmond was re-elected to a three-year term on the Weathersfield School Board. Megan Waite and John Arrison were elected to one-year terms on the board.
