SOUTH ROYALTON — Vermont Law and Graduate School is scheduled to host three free clinics this month to help people affected by this summer’s flooding to apply for assistance.

The first is scheduled to take place in South Royalton on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Oaks 109 on the law school’s campus, 164 Chelsea Street.

The other clinics are scheduled to take place in Ludlow and Barre in advance of a Sept. 12 deadline to submit applications for businesses and individuals seeking assistance through the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Small Business Association.

The pop-up legal clinics are being held by VLGS’s Entrepreneurial Legal Laboratory and the Environmental Justice Clinic. They will offer assistance with applications, appeals and help address questions people may have.

People seeking assistance at the clinics can come prepared with pictures of before and after the flood; receipts of repairs, replacements and lodging for those displaced by flooding; insurance information; household income information; and any additional notes about damages or losses caused by the flooding.
