Upper Valley Green Up and Community Clean Up Days 2022

Here’s a look at “Green Up” and community clean-up day events taking place in the Upper Valley in the coming weeks. Please send email additions and updates to calendar@vnews.com.


Annual Roadside Clean Up: Saturday, April 23. Meet at 9 a.m. at Canaan Street Beach to pick up supplies. Rain date is April 24. Email conservation@CanaanNH.org for more information.


Earth Day used tire clean up: Saturday, April 23, from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Claremont resident can drop off car and light truck tires — with or without rims — to the transfer station for free. Call 603-542-7020 for more information.

Spring Clean Up Project: Monday, May 2, through Friday, May 6. Put leaves and grass in paper compostable leaf bags. Leave on curb sides to be picked up by city’s Public Works Department. Call 603-542-7020 for more information.


Green Up Day: Saturday, May 7. Bags and route sign-ups available beginning April 23 at the town clerk’s office. Meet at 10 a.m. on May 7 at Town Hall. Bags can be dropped off at Town Hall beginning April 30 and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 7. Call Peter Berger at 802-333-9223 for more information.


Grantham town-wide clean up day: Saturday, May 7, 9 a.m. to noon. Bags can be picked up at Grantham Town Hall a the Route 10 entrance or South Cove Activity Center in Eastman. Hosted by the Grantham Garden Club. Visit granthamgardenclub.org or call 603-863-0189 for more information.


Green Up Day: Pick up bags beginning April 22 at Hanover Town Hall, Etna Post Office, Mascoma Bank and RWB Community Center. Bags will be collected on Saturday, May 7, at Etna Church, Hanover Center Church, Hanover High School front parking lot and Storrs Pond. They can also be left along roadsides. Hanover Rotary Pancake breakfast will take place from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Storrs Pond. The Shred Truck will be on site from 9 a.m. to noon: Bring a Green Up Day bag and shred personal documents. Hanover Fire Department vehicles on site for families to see. Green Up Hartford: Beginning Monday, April 18, Green Up bags will be available at the Hartford Town Hall and the Quechee Library. Write down the section of road that you will focus on. Bags also will be available on Green Up Day, Saturday, May 7, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Town Hall and Quechee Green. Dumpsters will be available from May 4 to May 9 at Town Hall and the Quechee Green. Green Up trash will not be accepted at the Hartford Solid Waste Facility. Green Up Day: Saturday, May 7. Pick up bags beginning Monday, April 18, at the town clerk’s office and sign up for roads. Bags and sign-up sheets will also be available beginning at 8 a.m. on May 7 at the fire station. hartland.govoffice.com.

Green Up Day: Saturday, May 7. Meet at the town green from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bags will be available ahead of time at the Newbury Town Office, the Newbury Village Store and outside the Baldwin Library. 802-866-5521.


2022 Cory Taber Memorial Field Clean Up Day: Saturday, April 23, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. behind Plainfield Community Church, 1259 Route 12A. Ice rink tear down at 11 a.m. Burgers and hot dogs at noon. Bring gloves, rakes and tools. pcc@pccnh.com.


Green Up Day: Saturday, May 7. Pick up bags outside the town office building through May 7. Stop by the Town Garage on Route 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 7 to drop off trash and find out about roads that need attention.


Green Up Day: Saturday, May 7. Pick up bags beginning on April 25 at the Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce office, or on May 7 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Springfield Food Co-op parking lot. Facebook: “Springfield's Green Up Day 2022” for more information.


Green Up Day: Saturday, May 7. Pick up bags and reflective vests at the town office or at the transfer station. Dumpster available May 7 at Town Hall. Sign up for road sections at thetfordvt.gov. Residents encouraged to volunteer in pairs or family unit.


Green Up Day: Saturday, May 7. Stop by the Windsor fire station beginning at 8 a.m. to pick up bags and sign up for a route. Free community hotdog cookout, noon to 1 p.m. Filled bags can be dropped off at the municipal building before 1 p.m. or left in a visible area by the roadside. Green Up Day: Saturday, May 7. Meet at Town Hall, 31 the Green, beginning at 8 a.m. to collect trash bags and street assignments, or do collection on your own. Bring all items collected — including tires, bottles, cans or other roadside trash — to public works department. Supported by Rotary Club of Woodstock. 802-457-3555.
