TUNBRIDGE — The proposed general fund budget of $623,653 marks a 7% increase and the proposed highway budget of $984,495 marks a 10% increase.

Together with appropriations for the fire department and social service agencies, town spending will require an 18 cent increase per $100 of valuation in the town tax rate, or $450 in new taxes on a $250,000 home.

A Selectboard seat held by Mike McPhetres is up for election this year.

Another article asks voters to authorize the Selectboard to work with the Tunbridge Energy Committee to develop a plan and budget for a town-owned 30-35 kilowatt solar array to produce the electricity needed for town-owned buildings. The construction of the solar array would be subject to voter approval.

Tunbridge’s Town Meeting will be held at the Tunbridge Central School Auditorium at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3. Pre-Town Meeting will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m. in the school auditorium.
