WILDER — Expanded public transportation options are coming to the Upper Valley next month.

Beginning Sept. 11, Advance Transit will offer weekday evening service on four of its bus routes, according to a news release from the nonprofit organization:

■The Blue Route — which connects Dartmouth College, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Hanover, Lebanon, Enfield and Canaan — will run until 9:03 p.m.

■The Red Route — which includes Lebanon, downtown West Lebanon and the Route 12A Plazas in West Lebanon, will run until 8:50 p.m.

■The Green Route — which covers West Lebanon, Hartford Village, Wilder and Hanover — will run until 8:32 p.m.

■The Orange Route — which includes White River Junction, West Lebanon and Hanover — will run until 8:35 p.m.

■There also are changes coming to the Yellow Route, which will run every hour from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The Yellow Route also will be expanded to include downtown White River Junction, Sykes Mountain Avenue, the Gilman Complex on Hartford’s Holiday Drive, Hanover and the Upper Valley Aquatic Service. It will cease service to Bugbee Street, according to the news release.

Saturday services will start on Sept. 16, and “will offer modified service to most areas usually covered by the Blue, Red, Orange and Green lines during the weekdays,” according to the release. More information on Saturday routes will be available Friday, Sept. 1, at advancetransit.com.

Advance Transit is looking to hire additional drivers, but its ability to expand these routes is not dependent on hiring success.

“We will have enough drivers for these routes,” Trish Palao, director of marketing and philanthropy at Advance Transit, said in a phone interview.

Advance Transit also is working with Dartmouth College to provide more transportation options to students, particularly graduate students who live at Summit on Juniper, which is on Mount Support Road in Lebanon. Shuttles will run seven days a week and service now extends to 2 a.m., according to a news release from the college.

Students who live at Sachem Village on Route 10 in West Lebanon will have access to public transportation every weekday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Additionally, Advance Transit is working with four other nonprofit organizations to host a September workshop series for older adults titled “Making Connections: Freedom and Mobility As We Age.”

Bugbee Senior Center, AARP Vermont, Tri Valley Transit and Vital Communities will all participate in the free four-part series based at the senior center. Sessions will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursdays, Sept. 7 through Sept. 28. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

“The workshop takes participants on a journey through time to understand why so much of our world is car-dependent, and what can be done to improve transportation options for those who cannot drive, cannot afford to drive, or who do not wish to drive,” according to an announcement from the Bugbee Senior Center. “Participants will learn key concepts of healthy community design, share your own experiences, get tips on going car-light or car-free in the Upper Valley, and make a plan for action and advocacy in your own community.”
