Cornish, N.H. — Tim Conrad, age 62, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018, at his home in Cornish. Born on June 22, 1955, to Franklyn and Sheila (Silloway) Conrad, Tim had a welcoming and jovial personality that was appreciated by all who knew him. Many knew him by his vibrant colored welding caps as well as his bright green mobile welding truck driving over the roads of the Upper Valley. Tim was a jack of all trades who loved to build things for friends and family. He was a patient and kind man, with a natural talent for teaching others in a calm and reassuring manner. He did not believe in hate, as he believed that he should live a life of humility, compassion and treating others as he would like to be treated. For years he volunteered to help teach welding classes to night students at the Hartford Area Career and Technical Center. He was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Tim was an avid outdoorsman who shared his love for the great outdoors with his daughter, grandson and all who accompanied him on treks through the woods. Going to hunting camp in Errol, N.H. was a joyful annual event. He was also an animal enthusiast. His mannerisms and calm presence provided safety and security to many wild and domestic animals alike. His grandchildren affectionately called him “the cow whisperer,” as it seemed he could convince any bovine to come to him. Tim also participated in and appreciated a variety of sports. For years Tim and his family could be seen sitting behind the Dartmouth hockey goal in section 13 cheering on their team. In winter months he could be found playing pond hockey with family and friends and sledding with his grandchildren. In warmer months he could be found hiking through the woods, playing golf, swimming, and playing baseball or football with his family.

Tim was a devoted family man; family was the most precious gift to him. His wife, daughter, son-in-law, and beloved grandchildren were his primary focus. He was an amazing father and grandfather, who never wavered in support or enthusiasm.

Tim was predeceased by his Parents, Franklyn and Sheila.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Theresa (Perreault) Conrad of Cornish; his daughter, Angela Conrad-Schlager of Bradford, Vt.; his beloved grandchildren, Oden Timothy and Arden Rose Schlager; and cherished son-in-law, Brian Schlager; his siblings, Kenneth (Susan) of Lebanon, N.H., David (Joan) of Lebanon, Robert (Kathie) of Idaho, Michael (Sally) of Grafton, N.H., Marcia Stone (Tracy) of Croydon, N.H., Bonnie Bowie (Don) of North Carolina; as well as scores of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Cornish Rescue squad, Cornish Police, and Cornish road crew for their quick response and effort.

A celebration of life will be held on Feb. 1, 2018, beginning at Ricker Funeral Home, 56 School Street, Lebanon, NH 03766. 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. will be memorial calling hours, and at 3 p.m. a celebration of life remembrance will begin.
