HARTFORD — Democratic voters in the Windsor 6 district representing Hartford chose incumbent state Rep. Kevin “Coach” Christie and newcomer Esme Cole as their nominees to represent them in the Vermont State House on Tuesday.

Cole earned 992 votes, or 34% of the vote, while Christie earned 959, or 33% of the vote, according to the Vermont Secretary of State’s website. They bested Nicholas Bramlage’s 449 votes to earn the nominations from the two-seat district.

No Republicans have filed for the race, which means Cole and Christie will be unopposed in the general election in November.
