CLAREMONT — Three Sullivan County Rotary clubs plan to participate in a statewide effort to distribute free face masks to community members this weekend.

Rotary clubs throughout the Granite State have partnered with Alex Ray, who co-owns The Common Man restaurants for a “Mask Up, New Hampshire!” program. The chain of eateries — which has a location in Claremont — has donated 67,000 masks, which were divided up between rotary clubs to distribute to community members, according to a news release from the Newport, Charlestown and Claremont clubs.

The Claremont Rotary Club will distribute masks from 3-7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Stevens High School, at 175 Broad St. Newport will pass masks out from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Newport Plaza at 11 John Stark Highway. Charlestown’s distribution will take place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Rotary Community Garden, which is located near the town transfer station and fire station at 1 Main St.

Each household can receive two masks per person and only one family member is needed to pick up the masks. While the masks are free, donations will be accepted and go toward community programs in all three towns.
