STRAFFORD — Voters at Town Meeting will decide whether to spend $7,000 for a regional energy coordinator and will debate whether to declare that a climate emergency threatens the town and the state.

Residents will also be asked to approve a municipal budget of just under $1.1 million.

Selectboard seats currently held by Kate Siepmann and Lauri Berkenkamp will be elected from the floor. Selectboard member Patrik Kelly, who was appointed to replace John Freitag, is expected to seek re-election to complete the three-year term.

On the school side, the proposed school budget of almost $3.4 million would result in spending per equalized pupil of $18,641, a 9.3% increase over the current school year.

Two School Board seats, currently held by Sarah North and Jeff Solsaa, are also up for election.

Strafford’s Town Meeting will be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, at the Town House, to be followed at 1 p.m. by the annual School District Meeting.
