Springfield, n.h. — A New Hampshire resident is asking for the public’s help in locating two puppies that he said were stolen from his Springfield home on Tuesday.

Scott Cote said someone entered his Old Grantham Road home between 9:15 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, opened the pen where the two purebred beagle puppies were and took them.

“If somebody has got the darn things, if they would just please bring them back,” Cote said.

Winchester and Molly are about 4 1/2 months old and are light brown and white in color.

Cote said he has contacted several Upper Valley police departments as well as the Upper Valley Humane Society, and hasn’t had any luck finding the beagles.

A message left for State Police Trooper William Neilsen, who is handling the case, wasn’t immediately returned.
